Hello,
my name is Kathrin. I'm studying civil engineering at the Technical University in Munich and I'm working on my master thesis on the topic "Comparative study of worldwide fire-fighting tactics and conditions of defensive fire protection in building fires with the development of a rating system."
I compare different countries in relation to the fire department and I need help for France.
- Does France have laws or regulations for respsonse time?
- Does France have protection goals? (for example: In 95% of fire missions with 10 firefighters in 10 minutes at the work site)
- Does France or the departments have to make fire protection requirements plan (i think "Plan d'exigences en matière de protection contre l'incendie" in french)
- In Germany, the "critical apartment fire" (apartment fire in a upper floor of a multi-storey residential building with people rescue over ladders of the fire department in smoky stairwell) as a design fire for many fire protection requirements.
-> Is there also an authoritative design fire in France? If so, how is this defined and what are the levels of staffing when you move out?
-> What would be the strength of a French fire brigade if they had to move out for a "critical apartment fire"?
It would be really nice if somebody could help me with my questions.
Best Regards
Kathrin
